WiLT:Why My Dog Humps My Cat

While contemplating why a customer said he was “using that Mazola Fox Firewall” I wondered if Foxes and Dogs were in the same genus, (they’re not), but I did learn they are in the same family, Canidae. Unfortunately, it looks like Fox-Dog hybrids are not going to happen any time soon.

But, I’m getting off track. Look at the bottom of that first link. Why the dog feels she needs to dominate the cat, we may never know.

In the cafeteria today at lunch, they had steamed broccoli and purple mashed potatoes. I didn’t have any because I’ve been very bad this week with meals of undetermined caloric value consumed whenever I would get a chance. In other words, I’ve been eating a lot of junk food and pizza instead of my normal salad for lunch. This needs to stop soon, or I’m headed back above 200 lbs mark. Today was one of the first days this week that I actual made it down to the cafeteria and headed straight for the salad bar, without first checking out the culinary creations. Back at my desk, John returned from his lunch excursion with a meal the required some googling. I had heard of purple skinned potatoes, but never potatoes purple straight through.

I’m interested in trying to cook with some of these crazy potatoes but I think being color blind might lead to some dishes other people would be afraid to eat.  I mean, more than my cooking normally makes people afraid to eat.

You know that falling sensation that wakes you up right as you fall asleep? It’s a Hypnic Jerk. I think I do this ever few weeks or so.  Meg says I do this about every night, and it used to freak her out.  I don’t know why she’s freaked out, she’s not the one falling out a window every night.

Ever wonder why you never need to replace the batteries on your See ‘n Say?  because their aren’t batteries!  They’re just a fancy animal-sound-filled phonograph.  I always figured there was some microchip and a fly-wheel or Van De Graff based generator.  Now I Know.

The are two species of fruit flies in Pennsylvania, one that feeds on blueberries, and one that feeds on snowberries.  Not that odd, huh? well, if these two fruit flies breed, the hybrid offspring is not genetically compatible with either parent species, but is able to reproduce with other hybrids of the same heritage, and feeds on honeysuckle, not blueberries or snowberries. Wierd, huh? (0)

Discus Fish create their own food for their fry, like milk made out of the slime that covers their body. The fry will attach to the parents skin, alternating between both parents. (0)
