What Do You Mean, Monocles Are Out of Style?!?

Last week I decided it was time to go to the eye doctor and get a checkup, since the last time I was there, I wasn’t yet driving. I hadn’t really noticed any vision problems, but thought it was time for a health checkup. 20/20 in my right eye, and… hmm, this is odd… 20/50 in my left eye, plus an astigmatism. The doctor was amazed I hadn’t noticed any problems. I just don’t close my right eye very often, without my left eye following along. Turns out my left eye is a bit of a slacker, wasn’t really doing much besides light depth perception duty.

Seeing how I only needed correction on one eye, I asked the fine folks at Lenscrafters if I could see their monocle selection. They don’t sell monocles! But these guys do. What have I learned? Monocle prices are almost exactly half the cost of a pair of glasses. Just As You Would Expect.
