Palm Bluetooth GPRS/Edge connection to T-mobile failing.

Dear LazyWeb,

2 days ago, my T3 locked up. not that odd of an occurrance, but it hasn't happened in months, almost a year. To get the palm up and running again, I had to restore from a backup, which, was a week old. not that big of a loss. Everything came back up, and I was able to connect the the shared internet connection running off of my wife's PC with no problems.

The next day… I tried to update my RSS feeds for some reading material over lunch, and the palm wouldn't get a network connection from my phone. The Bluetooth connection to the phone works, I can send SMS and pictures back and forth, but the network connection is never established. I was able to get a working data connection on the phone itself. I knew some people at work were having crackberry connection problems in the area, and since we're all on T-mobile, I figured it was a T-mobile problem. That night, I tried again to connect from home to T-mobile from my phone, and was still having problems. At this point, I figured something didn't restore correctly from the backup.

Today, I reinstalled all the Phone-link stuff for the palm, but to no avail. When I try and connect, the Palm eventually times out with the error code 0×1212. if I go into the network log on the palm I get the follow:

Connect Log

[GRPS4 OK]

R: AT\r\r\nOK

[GPRS1 OK]

R:

\r\nAT+CGDCONT=0,"",""\r\r\nERROR\r\n

Err:0×1212

My google-fu has failed me.  I tried calling T-mobile over lunch, but as luck would have it, had to go back to work before they answered.  Does the LazyWeb have any magical answers for me?

  1. […] I’m still not exactly sure why it broke, but I was able to get my network connection back up on my palm over my phone. The problem might be on the palm, but for all I know, could still be the result of a configuration change on the T-mobile side, but what I do know is that the palm app Mobile High Speed got me up and running again.
