Marriage: Year One

The 19th was our first wedding anniversary. Married life is treating both of us well, I think. For our anniversary celebration…

We spent the weekend in Fell's Point staying at The Admiral Fell Inn, which was a very nice hotel that did a good job of taking care of your every whim, except for their inability to put shampoo in the room.

We went down the afternoon on the 18th, and I took Monday off work so we departed late in the morning on the 20th. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory, and I only slightly disturbed my diet. Considering the richness of the fare, I'll consider that a win.

Sunday was spend at The Maryland Science Center, where we played with all the fun science demontrations, and caught a planetarium show about Einstein. The show provided very brief explainations of the papers Big Al published during his "Miracle Year" and pointed out some of the places in the night sky evidence supporting Einstein's theories can be found.

Monday, after a leisurely breakfast in the hotel restaurant, I planned on taking Meg to go see Howl's Moving Castle at a neat factory turned movie theatre I found, but she decided she'd rather take an exploratory trip home, avoiding the normal highway routes.

With that in mind, we got in the car, and selected a few Points of Interest catagories we would be interested in, and headed in a generally northern direction. The highlight of our scenic trip home was the Ladew Topiary Gardens, which was a nice way to end the trip.

A few hours later, we were home, the dog was VERY happy to see us, the lawn was mowed, and life returned to normal. It was a good mini-vacation, and I'm looking forward to the next year together with Meg.
