Eye stuff

been finding a few interesting links about eyes lately.

The Eye Color Calculator is a pretty slick flash app to find out What Color Eyes Would Your Children Have?

The color blindness webfilter runs your webpage through a filter so you can see how ugly it is to me. Set it to Protanopia to see like I see.

I've been trying it out, and I don't see any difference. So either the filter is broken, or works really well.

Update: a trichromate tried out the filter for me. apparently it is working.

  1. More people need to see this. If I had a nickel for every jealous person who looked at Lena’s pretty blue eyes and said “Oh, those will change.”

When I said, “no, her father and I both have blue eyes.” they invariably said “Doesn’t matter. They’ll change.”

I had to work hard to resist saying “Your lack of attention in Biology 101 notwithstanding, science says they’ll be blue.”

Five months, and counting…and they are still blue.

  3. […] I’m interested in trying to cook with some of these crazy potatoes but I think being color blind might lead to some dishes other people would be afraid to eat.  I mean, more than my cooking normally makes people afraid to eat.
