What I Learned Yesterday

Yesterday, we had Meg's Dad and my parents over for dinner. Mom also brought dog nail trimmers and helped me trim Penny's nails. I learned a few things:

  • Penny doesn't like having her nail's trimmed.
  • My mom doesn't like Penny trying to bite her.
  • Penny definitely needed her nails trimmed, as the scratch marks all over my forearms attest.
  • When a dog is scared and held down, it will struggle
  • When a dog is struggling, cutting their nails can result in a bit of blood-letting
  • Mom can be a bit of a MacGyver, as she turned her sock into an effective muzzle.
  • Penny doesn't like muzzles.
  • Meg and her dad don't like the sounds a dog makes when it's crying in fear through a muzzle.
  • When a dog is really scared, they spray their anal glands.
  • Being colorblind is a good excuse to not have to clean up blood stains.
  • If you are planning on covering up a bloody murder, or cleaning up after trimming your dog's nails, OxyClean helps a lot.

Next time, we're getting a professional with some powerful anesthesia to do this job.
