My Palm Likes To Travel

My T3 has grown weary of my pocket and decided it wants to travel, see the world via the back of a FedEx truck. Yes, I got it back just a few days ago, and has since gone all batman-wacky again. the warranty repair company is sending a fresh box, so back on the road it goes.

We Don’t Mess Around

We went out to the Leader Heights Diner last night and were the only people in the restuarant, and the musician that was playing was pretty good. he did some amazing sounding guitar work on a keyboard. I kept moving around in my seat trying to get a better view to make sure there wasn't a guitarist working with him that I didn't see. There wasn't.

Then I got a wonderfully twisted idea. I asked him to play Freebird.

the piano-player replied, "Freebird? Really? We don't mess around" and he played it. Really well. I was amazed. I tried to record some of it on my palm, but it crashed again, so I called Ben and left some of it on his voicemail. It was teh awesome.

I feel like I should add a Freebird catagory to the site. That would be wierd.

Don’t Buy Netgear WG511 To Use With Linux

So, I recently bought the netgear wg511 card from newegg. The reviews on newegg are glowing for this card, and how well supported it is in Linux. My package arrived yesterday, and I tried to get it setup with the prism54 driver. Turns out, I received version 2 of the card, which uses the Marvell chipset, and the only way i'm going to get it running is with the ndiswrapper project that lets me use the windows driver, but that just feels dirty. Plus, I'd really like to support a business that uses a chipset supported by linux. So full of hate right now.

My Handheld Is Back! And Crashing Again!

I got my palm back from the repair depot yesterday. All seemed right in the world again. Except that just about 5 minutes ago it started crashing like it had been before I sent it back. Not happy. I've just tried to wipe all of my software off of it, but it still seems to be there. Very odd. I have a feeling I'll be sending it back for more repair work.

Many Ways To Have A Good Time

Went to the Gym friday and had a good workout. I did 15 minutes on the treadmill, peaking at about 7 mph. Then really pushed myself on weights for 35 minutes or so. I finished with another 20 minutes on a reclining exercise bike. My knees were a little sore friday night, but seem okay today. I think next time I get back to the gym (Monday?) I'm going to have to give my knees a break for a bit. Maybe some more swimming. It's good to see my endurance getting better.

You Can Stay There, And I’m Sure You Will Find

Went to the Y with Meg on Monday, and did 20 minutes on the rowing machine. I'm working my way up in difficulting level, and I'm up to "standard" now. It felt good, but I didn't really push myself as hard as I would have liked. I was planning on doing some heavier weight training afterwards, but Meg started to not feel good so we stopped and I took her home so she could throw up (she's feeling much better now). Oh well. I have off work Thursday and Friday and hope to put in a good workout those days.

I Said, Young Man, When You’re Short On Your Dough

Went to the Y after church with Meg. We swam and walked in the water for about 40 minutes, then I did 20 minutes on the treadmill and some weights. I'm working up to more and more of my treadmill time is running instead of just fast walking, but it's slow going. After we left the Y, we picked up our repaired vacuum cleaner at Sears and then took the dog for a half mile walk around the nieghborhood. I am definitely ready for some veg out time after all that.
