We bought a house last night. moved sewer and water and electric into my name. I'm carrying boxes tonight. Running cat6 tomorrow and getting the cable modem installed. Various fix0ring up (fix0r++? I like it. ) will take place this weekend. At some point, I need to change the locks. On the 3rd movers are, uh, moving stuff, like pianos and beds and stuff. At that point, we move the pets in. On the 7th we get our new washer and dryer, at which point I need to get a plumber in to hook up the gas dryer and light pilot lights on the furnace and water heater. Over the course of both of these coming weekends, I'll probably be borrowing a truck from my dad for miscellaneous loads of stuff from the garage.

At some point in all of this, I stop sleeping at my current house, and start sleeping at the new one. Ok, probably tomorrow, huddled by the warmth of my new cable modem.

Yeah, I have been neglecting my blog a little. and now I've commited the cardinal sin of blogs: blogging about how I haven't blogged in a while. That's like gazing at lack of navel gazing.

But I have an excuse! look at the blog post right below this one. We're buying a house. For those not up on the process of buying a house, this takes up a lot of your time. Meg is at the property right now as they do the house inspection. We're are closing on the 29th. And, if that schedule isn't tight enough, we are going to try and be moved in by August 15th.

I think I'll never want to move every again. Just because I'm lazy and this is a lot of, you know, work. I'm very lucky Meg has the summers off from work so she's doing a lot of the packing.

I'm hunting down homeowner's insurance and high speed internet access.

Let me repeat that:

DSL or Cable. not only can I get a decent net connection, I have CHOICE. I will be one very happy geek.

Oh, yeah, wedding pictures are coming, but may need to wait until I have HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS!!!!

Buying a house! As long as nothing big comes up with the home inspection, we will be closing on the 29th. Exciting and scary at the same time. Oh, yeah, and honeymoon and wedding pictures to follow this weekend.
